Humility: Strength to Serve
Scripture: Luke 22:24-30 (NRSV)
We love to think about who is the G.O.A.T. (greatest of all time) in any given area: The greatest actor (Pacino or DeNiro?), quarterback (Tom Brady or Joe Montana?), military leader (Alexander the Great or Julius Caesar?), or the best sandwich (peanut butter & jelly or bologna & cheese?). Well Jesus chimes in on the topic, and like he usually does, turns everything upside down: the greatest among you must be like the youngest and the leader like one who serves. This is one of the distinguishing marks of the follower of Christ.
