Amos: Let Justice Roll Down Like Waters
Scripture: Amos 5:14-15, 18-24 (NRSV)
Who did Martin Luther King Jr. turn to talk about God’s love for all people, particularly the downtrodden? Amos. Amos is the towering witness in Scripture for not only God’s justice and righteousness, but that we are to reflect this passion in our relationships with our fellow human beings, particularly the downtrodden. If this commitment isn’t reflected in our dealings in society, our worship is hollow, not hallowed.
