Red Cross Blood Drive

Give Blood. Save a life.

WHEN?  Saturday, January 19, from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
WHY?  Giving blood truly is giving the gift of life. Every unit of whole blood can save 3 lives. In Arizona alone, 300 blood donors are needed every day to meet the needs of hospitals in the state.
QUALIFICATIONS?  You have to be at least 16 years old (16 and 17 year olds need parental consent) to give, you have to weigh at least 110 pounds, and you must be in good health. On the other end of the age spectrum, in Arizona, there is no age limit for blood donors.
HOW LONG? It takes only about ten minutes to give a pint of blood, but the checking-in process takes a little time. You should plan to be here about an hour. Make sure you eat a good meal before donating and increase your intake of water the day before and the day of the drive. Also, be sure to bring a photo ID with you.
HOW TO SIGN UP?  Reserve your time slot early. The reservation times are every 15 minutes from 7:30 a.m. to noon. To schedule your appointment or for more information, contact Kay Schmidt at 546-8011, the American Red Cross at 1-800-733-2767, or log on to and enter sponsor code: Immanuel. If you have any questions you’d like to ask, you may contact the American Red Cross at 1-800-GIVE-LIFE. Child care will be provided. (Note: Walk-ins are welcome, but it may take more time to fit you in.)
